Women in art have faced gender biases for centuries and women have never been treated equally in the art world. Today female artists remain dramatically underrepresented and undervalued in museums, galleries, and auction houses and the battle continues.
ArtGirlsRising's Mission and Goal is to raise awareness about the inequalities that women artists face.
How It Started: The #5WomenArtists campaign, created by the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) inspired the creation of ArtGirlRising. Over the last 3 years we have donated more than £11,000 to charities and not for profits, including NMWA, Women for Women and Tessera Arts Collective.
